Always planning for tourism development requires attention to supply and demand. In the meantime, tourism marketing in particular relies on knowing the characteristics of supply and demand. Accordingly, in this study, the behavior pattern of supply and demand of tourism was assessed with based on the changess of the capitalist system in the city of Karaj and its surrounding villages. Generally, the type of this research is quantitative. The statistical population of this research includes experts in the field of research topic and the local community that were surveyed as two categories of residents of Karaj and surrounding villages as travel applicants and travel companies in Karaj as travel suppliers. The sampling of the experts was done by purposeful and convenience sampling method and the sampling of the residents was done by simple random sampling method and the sampling of the travel companies was done by the complete enumeration method. The results of the present study showed that the behavior pattern of travel applicants is different between the residents of Karaj and the surrounding villages. Accordingly, the behavior of the residents of the surrounding villages, with a weighted mean of 0.521, is inclined to the characteristics of fordism- post-fordism tourism; On the other hand, surveying of the behavior pattern of the residents of Karaj, with a weighted mean of 0.711, showed that they are inclined to the characteristics of postfordism tourism. Meanwhile, the behavior pattern of travel companies in Karaj, with a weighted mean of 0.751, is inclined to the characteristics of post-fordism tourism. Overall, the behavior pattern of tourism supply and demand in the city of Karaj is assessed as relatively post-fordism.
